Should this field tile condition be encountered during construction, a detail will be provided at that time. (04/15/2025)

  • Special Provision Pgs 8 & 9 indicate numerous utility companies intend to perform utility relocations "During Construction", please provide plans & durations for any utility relocations or betterments we will need to allow time for throughout construction. In the event the minor adjustments of valve boxes, hydrants & pedestals to grade are the extent of the utility relocations required, please indicate that will be the extent of utility relocations bidders need to anticipate during construction
Please refer to the utility coordination special provision. The plans and durations will have to be coordinated with each utility company during construction. (04/15/2025)

  • Concrete Pavement Part 2 - If a precast railroad crossing system will be used (By Others), please provide the correct tie-in detail for our use, particularly the means of isolating the railroad panels from the proposed concrete roadway pavement.
At the railroad crossing interface with the concrete pavement, contractors shall comply with IDOT standard 420501-07. (04/15/2025)

  • Concrete Pavement Part 1 -At the interface between reconstructed railroad track (By Others) & a proposed concrete pavement (under this contract). Please provide a detail of how the concrete pavement section will tie to the railroad crossing rail bed section. If Contractors need to comply with Standard Detail 420501-07, (indicating a 6-Foot wide asphalt plug) please confirm that this detail should be followed & that a reinforced 10-IN concrete pavement approach along the asphalt plug is correct
At the railroad crossing interface with the concrete pavement, contractors shall comply with IDOT standard 420501-07. (04/15/2025)

  • Please indicate the anticipated duration required for the railroad replacement scope of work "By Others".
The schedule and duration for this work is at the railroad’s discretion and no schedule or duration has been provided by the Railroad. (04/15/2025)

  • The specs call out two separate (a)(5) locations. But only on landfill authorization sample. What (a)(5) does IDOT want the landfill authorization sample collected?
The sites are directly across the street from each other. It is common to have a single sample be intended to be representative for an intersection vs. sampling every A5 site. It won't matter which site is sampled, or they can even composite a sample from both. The requirement for the BDE 2730 is that the sample be collected from either an A1 or A5 location. (04/15/2025)

  • Can you please post the questions and answers for the March letting for Item 134
They cannot be posted since it was withdrawn from the letting. New questions will have to be asked. (04/14/2025)

  • There is a pay item for Changable Message Boards for 100 calender days, but I don't find anywhere in the plans that call out for message boards. All I have seen is message boards will be up to the engineer if needed. How many boards? How long are the boards needed?
See Detour General Note 4 on Sheet 45. (04/02/2025)
