Contract Specifics
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 10:30 AM in the Whiteside County Highway Department at 18819 Lincoln Road, Morrison, IL 61270. Location Notes - Conference Room. Meeting Description - The main objective of this meeting is to discuss the installation of the galvanized steel Press Brake Formed Tub Girders. The beam vendor will be in attendance to provide technical information regarding the installation and to answer questions. . The pre-bid meeting is mandatory for all potential prime contractors interested in bidding. Registered subcontractors and certified disadvantaged business enterprise subcontractors are encouraged to attend. The meeting will begin at 10:30 AM at which time, after a final call for everyone to sign in, the sign-in sheets will be copied. Attendees who show up after the presentation is underway will not be allowed to sign-in thereby not being considered in attendance. Failure on the prime contractor's part to attend will cause the contractor's request for authorization to bid to be denied.

  • Schedule of Quantities information has not been included in the plans. Please provide.
    The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications published online. (04/25/2023)

  • The Removal Stage Line and the Construction Stage Line are only 10" apart. This will force the cofferdam sheeting at least 2' under the bridge deck in both stages, which is not feasible. Please consider moving the Construction Stage Line approx. 6' North.
    Contractors must bid the project as shown in the plans and specifications. The removal line can be adjusted to the north to include an additional 2’-4” maximum. (04/25/2023)

  • Pay item temporary rumble strips is 2 each. Does this mean each is 5 strips at each location? Where are the temporary rumble strips to be placed? They are not on the plans.

  • Impact Attenuators, Temp (non-redirective), TL 3 pay item shows 4 each, however, the plan only shows 2 each, which is correct?
