  • Is the solar powered flashing beacon assembly detail correct? Based on the special provisions it sounds like the intent was to have a standard aluminum flashing beacon assemblies with pedestrian signs for roadway traffic, RRFBs for roadway traffic, push button for pedestrians, and stop signs for pedestrians.
An addendum will be issued to address this question. Please continue to monitor the website for an update. (02/19/2025)

  • The solar powered flashing beacon assembly complete has several problems. The specs call out what would be an RRFB assembly when they reference a LED array viewable from all directions, but the plans do not show an RRFB on the post. Also, the wood post is set in rock and not concrete, and both are referenced. It also talks about about being wired to the push button assembly, and no push buttons are shown to be on this system. Can further clarification be provided on these items.
An addendum will be issued to address this question. Please continue to monitor the website for an update. (02/19/2025)

  • The specs for the solar powered flashing beacon assembly call for all items to be incidental including the wood post, however there is a wood post pay item provided for this work. Are the posts to be paid for separately or to be incidental?
The intent was to pay for the wood sign support. (02/19/2025)

  • Why would the department put an additional burden on the prime contractors and subcontractors to track and report all DBE trucks used on the job even when they are not being used for DBE goal credit? This additional burden discourages them from using DBE trucks when DBE goal credit is not needed. This will put DBE trucking firms not being utilized for goal credit at a disadvantage against Non-DBE trucking firms.
The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (02/18/2025)

  • The plans show 8 solar powered led enhanced stop signs but the specs have no mention of them. The specs call for rectangular rapid flashing beacons with no mention of solar powered led stop signs. If the stop signs are correct what size would they be?
An addendum will be issued to address this question. Please continue to monitor the website for an update. (02/14/2025)

  • When will plans be made available?
Plans will be posted on the site as soon as possible. Please continue to monitor the website for an update. (02/10/2025)
