  • The cross section information shown in the Contract Plans for Sta 12+25 show the normal water level at Elv 639.79, this does not seem to be the information intended. Please provide the intended information.
The normal water level should read +/-615.5 (03/07/2022)

  • This project does not have a construction vibration monitoring pay item. Due to the location of this project in a residential neighborhood and nearness of the surrounding properties and property owners (single family residences, 8 in water main, etc), and potential for liability -- please address the apparent need for pre and post construction surveys and construction vibration monitoring.
Due to the nature of construction and the foundation type, it is not the intention of this project to include construction vibration monitoring. (03/07/2022)

  • The aerial lines along the south side of the bridge present not only a voltage clearance issue but actual conflict with the phys req of the equipment needed to drill the drill shafts -- the lines span directly over a set of shafts. These various aerial line (utilities) are called out in the special provisions as "watch and protect" rather than the conflict that they are. Please clarify IDOT's position on the conflict with the equipment needed to drill the shafts and the existing utilities.
The utility companies associated with the aerial line along the south side of the bridge have been notified and coordination to resolve the issue is underway. (03/07/2022)

  • Reference Sheets 17, 21, & 22 in the Contract Plans. Please provide a width for the abutment cap's stub to the superstructure diaphragm - it does not appear to be shown. Please also provide details for the Fabric Reinforced Elastomeric Mat and its attachment plate.
An addendum will be issued. (02/25/2022)

  • Also pertaining to the previous question regarding the Fabric Reinforced Elastomeric Mat at the abutments, please provide a method of payment.
in accordance with ABD 19.8, Figure 17, the Fabric Reinforced Elastomeric Mat at the abutments will be included in the cost for Concrete Superstructure. (02/25/2022)

  • The BOM for the rebar appears to be missing various rebar which are called out in the plans. It appears a2(E), s10(E), s11(E), s12(E), and u10(E) have not been included in the BOM on sheet S7
An addendum will be issued. (02/24/2022)

  • The bridge cross section and the sections through the parapet (Contract Drawing Sheets 21 & 22) are missing dimensions for the depth of the deck slab at the fascias (below the sidewalk), and also the pitch of the overhangs (from where it meets the exterior beams). Please provide this missing information.
An addendum will be issued. (02/24/2022)

  • Reference the Superstructure Bill of Materials on sheet 22 and the Diaphragm at Abutment details on sheet 23. All of the stirrup or "s" bars (s10, s11, s12, etc.) do not seem to be accounted for in the table. Please provide this information.
An addendum will be issued. (02/24/2022)

  • Please reference the bridge elevation view and the rip-rap scour protection details on sht 16 of the plans. The Streambed elv is called out 614.1 and the Top of Bedrock is called out as 613.1+/-. The riprap section is shown to wedge 4' deep per Section A-A from the streambed elv, thus approximately a 3' depth of the incidental "excavation" required for the preparation of the bed with this work is in the rock. Please clarify the method of payment for the rock excavation which would be needed.
It is noted that the bedrock should not be removed in order to place rip rap. (02/23/2022)

  • Sheet 6 of the Contract Special Provisions states that "A maximum of 60 continuous Calendar days allotted for the detour duration shall also be....", yet it is also specified on sheet 75 that this contract is to be 75 working days. Please clarify the contract requirements for the detour and the contract completion - they seem to contradict each other,
It is noted that the detour will be allowed for the duration necessary to complete the project within 75 workings days. The detour shall not be limited to 60 continuous Calendar days. (02/22/2022)

  • NOTE 2 plan page 11 states changeable message sign will be needed. How long will it be needed and how many since they are incidental?
Two changeable message signs will be needed for two weeks. (02/22/2022)

  • What are limits of structure removal? Can existing footings below proposed grade remain in place?
The limit of structure removal is approximately 2 ft below existing channel bed elevation. The existing footings below proposed grade may remain in place if they do not interfere with the installation of rip rap scour protection. (02/16/2022)

  • Please provide as built drawings of the existing structure to be removed.
It is noted that record structural plans are NOT available. (02/16/2022)
