  • We still have concerns with working days on this project. Due to the added time with soils monitoring and disposal as well as the the traffic at these locations we feel this still may not be enough. Please consider an additional 15 working days for the project.
    The project should be bid according to the plans and specifications available online. (03/02/2022)

  • Is there a sample DOT Safety Plan for the removal soils. This is not something that we have done before. Is there someone at the DOT we can reach out to to discuss this work with?
    Please see Section 669 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction for qualifications & procedures for removal of regulated substances. (03/02/2022)

  • After reviewing the project site we have concerns that there is not adequate room available in the island to add a new foundation and hand hole with out removing the existing foundation and hand hole. To accomplish this a temporary Traffic signal may need to be installed to allow for removal of the existing signals. This would be required at both locations.
    Temporary signals were anticipated in the design process, therefore, no pay item was included in the plans. If the job cannot be built without temporary signals, they will have to be a contract addition. (03/02/2022)

  • • The project work schedule 30 working days seems to be very aggressive, on a project like this with a very busy intersection we will see a at least a 90 to a 120 working day schedule, can the working day schedule be increased?

  • • The Railroad Compressive Insurance requirement in the Special Provisions, does not state the liability limit amount requirements. What are the Railroad Compressive Insurance liability limit amount requirements?
