  • On sheet 31 of the plans, there are several areas shown for slopewall repair that appear to be within the limits of the vaulted abutments. What is the intent in these areas? Also, would it be possible to provide a detail showing what is expected for the inlet adjustments? Finally, a few of the areas detailed for deck slab repair full depth seem to include the area of the parapet. Will the parapets have to be removed in these areas, and if so that would fall under other bid items correct?
    Question 1 answer: The areas shown for the slope wall repair shifted to the wrong place. The repairs are actually under the deck. Please continue to monitor the website for an update. Question 2 answer: Any inlet adjustments that maybe needed would typically be pretty standard. The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. It should be stated that depending on field conditions, the adjustment work may not be needed. Question 3 answer: The intention isn't to remove the parapet. The patches on the drawing are drawn too wide. The intent is to stop the full depth patches at the fascia beams. (02/23/2022)

  • Looking at the quantity for structural steel repair, it seems that the quantity is not correct. Also, for the girder end repairs, is that work only being done at one location or do all of the girder ends get this repair?
    An addendum will be issued to address the structural steel repair for this contract. Please continue to monitor the website for an update. The beam end repair detail F applies to only one location on SN 069-0040 as shown in the plans. (02/22/2022)
