  • Aluminum Canopy Sheet 14, Detail 7 & 8 calls for a 5/16 all around weld. What type of weld are you looking for and what type of finish do you want on the weld?

  • On Sheet 19 Aluminum Canopy Section 1.3C.1 Heli-Arc welded. Can this be changed to Pulse Mig weld which is a stronger structural weld?

  • Please clarify painting scope of work – Plan 3 of 20, “Painting Notes” # 2. The “new structural steel“ (per the pay item) are repairs incorporated into existing weathering steel bridge units (plan 12 & 13). Must this structural steel be painted, or can it instead be furnished in weathering steel to match adjacent areas? Are these “Painting Notes” intended only for the new bridge spans? Note also applicable “General Notes” # 10 for clarification and uniformity.
    This question has already been answered for this item. You do not need to paint the weathering steel in the repaired areas. The painting notes are only intended for the new bridge spans. (04/15/2019)
