Pursuant to the Rules for Prequalification of Contractors and Issuance of Plans and Proposals, 44 Illinois Administrative Code 650.70,... "This contract requires, in addition to the normal IDOT prequalifications requirements, that the Contractor be SSPC - QP1 and QP2 certified. Evidence of certification must be provided prior to receiving authorization to bid." Contractors are required to submit copies of current certificates for each Letting. These certificates must be submitted along with the contractor's original BC 57 Affidavit of Availability. (BC 57)

General Note 11 on Plan Sheet 2 states "steel bearings and end diaphragms" and then states "all bearings and diaphragms" in the same paragraph. Please clarify if the intent is to paint all bearings and all diaphragms, or just the end bearings and end diaphragms.

The intent is to paint both everything 5' from the end beams and full length of Fascia and bottom flanges of exterior beams plus some new diaphragms and bearing extensions that were only primed is everything being painted for this structure. The new diaphragms and bearing extensions that were only primed is what the general note #11 is referencing. These diaphragms are at the beam ends, which are being blast-cleaned. (04/03/2024)

Caulking is not anticipated to be needed on this contract. (04/03/2024)
Will a field office be required for this project?

The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (04/03/2024)
