  • The note under Detail of Field Entrance on plan sheet 11 reads, “Gravel field entrances and or private entrances are to be included in Aggregate Surface Course Type B quantities.” In the Specifications and Proposal on page 3, Aggregate Shoulders, Type B reads, Field Entrances and Private Entrances as indicated in the plans or by the Engineer that require aggregate surface shall be furnished as part of this pay item.” Please clarify which item the aggregate in this area should be included.
    The private and field entrances rock quantities should be under Aggregate Surface Course, Type B. The special provision is wrong and should've been Aggregate Surface Course, Type B and not Aggregate Shoulders, Type B. (04/03/2024)

  • The pay item for Guardrail Post Vertical Adjust and Vertical Adjust Of Guardrail basically have the same Special Provisions as listed on page 3 & 4. Both items exist within the same locations. Since the Special Provisions are basically the same for each, what differentiates the pay item at each location?
    One is for the adjustment of the posts and the other is for the adjustment of the rail elements. (04/02/2024)

  • Please clarify. In the proposal, on page 32, under SHORT TERM AND TEMPORARY PAVEMENT MARKINGS, article 1095.06 has been revised. Is the intent of this revision to eliminate the use of Type I and III tape for the Short-Term Pavement Marking Pay item?
    The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications published online. (04/02/2024)
