  • On plan sheet 74 there is a 14x8x6 SS JB noted in Lighting Detail-1, but in is not shown and there is no pay item for this. Is this error on the plan sheet or incidental to another pay item.
    An addendum will be issued to address this. (10/30/2020)

  • In the special provisions it states that shoulder and guardrail near the west abutment is to be completed prior to routing 2 way traffic on the Bayview bridge. Is it fair to think that the traffic control for this work will be paid under standard 701422? If this is the case would the quantity be 2, or is this pay item to be a lump sum/? Please advise.
    An addendum will be issued to address this. (10/28/2020)

  • In the table for Bearing Repairs Item No.s 527, 532, 765, 726, 458, 286, 478, 479, 485, 492, and 293 are listed as being detailed on sheet 12 of 34. They are not. In the Table for Drain Repairs Item No.s 533, 434, 298, 763, and 612 are listed but there are no details in the plans.
    The Bearing Repairs called for on table on sheet 4 of 34 consists of the replacement of bolts as shown on sheet 12 of 34 between floor beams and girders. An addendum will be issued to address the drainage details. (10/28/2020)

  • In the Tables on Sheet 4 of 34 there are items of work listed that have no details in the plans. In the table for Floorbeam Repairs Spans 6, 7 & 11 Item 765 is listed as being detailed on Sheet 12 of 34. It is not there. In the table for Lateral Bracing Repairs Item No. 473 is listed as being detailed on Sheet No. 33 of 34. It is not there.
    The Bearing Repairs called for on table on sheet 4 of 34 consists of the replacement of bolts as shown on sheet 12 of 34 between floor beams and girders. An addendum will be issued to address the other issues. (10/28/2020)

  • Within the Contract Detail, Contract Specifics; it states that "the Contractor be QP1 and QP2 certified." Are you sure this is correct? I ask for 2 reasons: 1.) In the Notice To Bidders, Description Of Work; it states "Painting three bridges on I-72 near the I-72/6th Street Interchange south of Springfield. (SN 084-0076, 084-0077, 084-0104)." This is an error and is pasted from the exact description used for 038-72L85. 2.) 037-72L58 has deck milling/overlay, joint replacement, and repairs.
    The QP1 and QP2 certification for bidders has been removed and the Description Of Work in the Notice To Bidders has been corrected. (10/28/2020)

  • Is there a specific detail that shows the dimensions and mounting of the light pole pedestal on sheet 74.
    The foundation/pole-mounting base in question is metal and integral to the bridge steel structure and, therefore, is being utilized, as is, for the mounting of the new replacement pole. The detail on sheet #74 came from the as-built plans. The contractor is required to field verify existing lighting as per General Note #3 shown on plan sheet #63. (10/20/2020)

  • Will the Tack Coat included in the FLS be measured for payment separately or is it considered part of FLS price? Also, the FLS only calls for one application of tack (on deck) and not on top of 4.75 mix. Is this correct?
    Please see the special provision FULL LANE SEALANT WATERPROOFING SYSTEM(CBM) and the details shown on sheet 13 of the plans which show the tack coat only applied to the prepared deck surface. Also in the special provision under Basis of Payment: "Preparation of concrete deck, tack coat, FLS, Hot-Mix Asphalt Mixture IL-4.75, and second layer of FLS will be paid for at the contract unit price per square yard (square meter) for FULL LANE SEALANT WATERPROOFING SYSTEM."
