Contract Specifics
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 09:00 AM in the IDOT Bridge Office at 105 Bridge Street, Joliet, IL 60435. Location Notes - The parking lot is off N Bluff Street on the west side of the Des Plaines River. Meeting Description -  

This site visit will begin at the IDOT Bridge Office located at 105 Bridge Street, Joliet, IL  60435 at 9:00 a.m. where all potential bidders will be required to sign in.  The Bridge Office will be open for viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  A schedule will be provided upon arrival on the order of viewing of the six movable bridge tender houses after the Bridge Office viewing is done. 

  

Attendees who show up after 10:00 am will not be able to sign in nor continue on with the site visit to the six movable bridge tender houses.  Failure on the prime contractor’s part to attend will cause the contractor’s request for authorization to bid to be denied.   

 Specific project-related questions shall not be directed to IDOT staff conducting the site visit.  All questions shall be submitted following IDOT procedures.    .

The pre-bid meeting is mandatory for all potential prime contractors interested in bidding. Registered subcontractors and certified disadvantaged business enterprise subcontractors are encouraged to attend. The initial viewing at the Bridge Office begins at 09:00 AM. At 10 AM, after a final call for everyone to sign in, the sign-in sheets will be copied. Attendees who show up after the site visit is underway will not be allowed to sign-in thereby not being considered in attendance. Failure on the prime contractor's part to attend will cause the contractor's request for authorization to bid to be denied.

  • Due to the complexity of the project, we would like to ask for a bid extension until the next letting date. Is there a procedure to request additional time for site visits?
    This contract is time sensitive and has a firm Completion Date. Delaying the bid and moving this project to another letting is not an option. (04/11/2018)
