Bulletin Description

Superstructure replacement of various structures on I-57 including SN 038-0003, SN 038-0004, SN 038-0005, SN 038-0006, SN 038-0009 and SN 038-0010. The project includes deck replacements of SN 038-0007 and SN 038-0008; structure repairs on SN 038-0001, SN 038-0002, SN 038-0031, which include bridge latex overlay; and repairs on SN 038-0086 and SN 038-0129. There are also two median crossovers and pavement marking replacement. Project is located along I-57 from 0.3 miles north of Prairie Creek to 0.7 miles south of N600E Rd in Iroquois County.

  • Reference Sheet 247 & 248 Notes. The existing studs are to be removed and ground smooth. Does the grinded contact surface of the removed stud need to be cleaned and primed and/or painted as well?

  • Reference Pay Item Z0007101. Structures 038-0007/8 and Structure 038-0031 are both listed under the same pay item for containment and disposal of lead paint cleaning residues no.1. However, pay item Z0007102 for containment and disposal of lead paint cleaning residues no.2 also includes structure 038-0007/8. Please clarify which structure is to paid under which pay item.

  • Contract Specifics for this project state that: This contract requires, in addition to the normal IDOT prequalification requirements, that the Contractor be SSPC - QP1 and QP2 certified. Please confirm that in order for a GC to bid this project, they need to be SSPC QP1 and QP2 Certified.
    SSPC - QP1 and QP2 certification is only required of the contractor performing the work, per the specifications, on this project. The Transportation Bulletin will be revised to reflect this. (05/26/2026)
