A voluntary pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Saint Louis Downtown Airport at 6100 Archview Drive, Cahokia, IL 62206.   • The material for the Oversize Aggregate pay item is supposed to be CA-1 per the Contract Specifications. Local quarries are not making CA-1 anymore and are requesting that RR-1 be allowed in place of the CA-1.
    This is acceptable and will be clarified by addendum. (04/19/2022)

  • Please supply a detail for the reinforcement panels in the non ferrous concrete showing bar sizes and spacing for fiberglass reinforcement. Will the dowel bars in the non ferrous concrete still be 1" x 18" ? Will they have to be smooth?
    On plan sheet 23, the Reinforcement Sheet Wire Fabric Detail is intended to reflect the minimum requirements for pavement reinforcement for the locations indicated on the jointing plan. In the non-ferrous concrete areas, the contractor shall provide non-ferrous materials in accordance with Reinforcing Note 7 that provides an equivalent reinforcement cross sectional area, which may include different bar sizes and/or spacing as needed to meet the minimum requirements. The non-ferrous dowel bars shall be the same size as the steel dowel bars and shall also be smooth, and shall have the same spacing as noted on the plans. (04/13/2022)

  • Will mulch be required for temporary seeding? If so, what type and at what rate?

  • It is unclear what excavation and bedding is required under the box culvert. Please clarify.
    The detail sheet will be reissued by addendum to clarify the bedding. (04/13/2022)

  • Can the State provide electronic files, prior to bid, for existing and proposed contours?
    Refer to plan sheet 9, note 3 (inadvertently labeled as note 2) which states, “Following the project award, the Engineer can provide the relevant AutoCad and Civil 3D surface model files to the awarded Contractor upon request to assist with construction layout.” (04/13/2022)

  • The jointing plan on sheet 22 calls out different joints on the plan view that do not match there designation in the legend. Please clarify the plan view joint call out to match the legend.
    The plan sheet will be reissued by addendum to clarify the joint types. (04/13/2022)

  • Aerial imagery looks like there is an existing road that is to be improved. Will the newly installed / improved haul road be allowed to remain in place?
    The existing haul road is allowed to remain in place. If the contractor constructs additional length to the existing haul road, toward the north/work area, that new installation may be left in place up to a point that lines up with the runway holding position marking on Taxiway B7, which equates to approximately 350 feet of additional haul road that may remain at the conclusion of the project. Any newly installed haul road beyond that point (towards the north/work area) must be removed and restored to pre-construction conditions. (04/13/2022)
