  • Will a pay item for Welded Wire Reinforcement be added to correspond with the 147 SY of Pavement Connector PCC for Bridge Approach Slabs, pay item 42000080. According to IDOT Standard 420401 reinforcement in connectors is paid for.

  • Pay Item 50901735 Bridge Fence - Curved: There is a Pay Item for this; plan sheet 18 notes Bridge Fence (Sidewalk) but the bridge plans are silent and the detail on plan sheet 78 crossed it out. Is this a valid pay item? IF yes, many things need to be amended. IF not, please issue Addendum and DELETE the pay item.

  • Pay Item 50901720 Bicycle Railing: Plan sheets 9, 17 and 18 note it but there is NO DETAIL as to how to build this. It is customary to also provide a post layout for railings, similar to other railings within this plan set.

  • On the drawings it calls out Type 2 bearings, but there is no pay item for that type, it only states type 1 in list of pay items. Can you let me know which way to go?
    Type I bearings as shown in the SOQ are correct and plans will be revised to show Type I bearings. The Department is in the process of issuing an addendum, please monitor the website for the addendum. (04/11/2022)

  • Will there be an portable changeable message sign item added for the mainline boards? They are not part of the detour notes.
    Per the IDOT standards used for Traffic Control on I-80 and as shown in the Traffic Control Plan signing sequences there will be two changeable message signs will be required on I-80, one for each direction. This shall be paid for under TRAFFIC CONTROL AND PROTECTION (EXPRESSWAYS). (04/11/2022)

  • The portable changeable message signs in the detour stated in note 7 plan page 22 needed for 7 days only?
    Note 7 on the detour plans state that the contractor shall erect PCMS on roadways or ramps proposed to be closed 7 days in advance of the closure. The intent is that that PCMS notifies the public in advance of the closure, but the PCMS installed shall stay on site through the duration of the closures and detours are present. The PCMS used for closures shall be included in the cost of the detour. (04/11/2022)

  • Can the existing plans be added to the plans and specifications tab for this project.
