  • 4. Please confirm that the 5” PCC sidewalk will not receive an aggregate base. 5. Can the sidewalk expansion joints on 30’ centers be cut in? 6. The silt fence as shown on the plans greatly reduces options for pouring the concrete sidewalk could the silt fence be moved or eliminated. 7. Are there proposed graded or cross sections available for this project? If so please provide.
    4. PCC Sidewalk, 5” is to be constructed as specified in the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and as specified in the contract documents. 5. Per the Specifications, all joints shall be hand tooled. 6. Temporary erosion control systems shall be constructed according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and as shown in the applicable Highway Standard. 7. Cross sections are not available for this project. (04/20/2022)

  • i. All of these areas could be deducted from the sidewalk where they overlap with the driveway pavement, but then the sidewalk quantity would not match the plan quantity. If deducted from the sidewalk quantity the square yardage of these areas does not match the plan quantity in the Entrance Schedule, please advise.
    i. Per Section 424.04 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, at locations where sidewalk is constructed at entrances, the sidewalk shall be thickened to the thickness of the adjacent entrance or driveway pavement. This work is paid for as sidewalk. As described in General Note 19 and as indicated by being an estimated quantity, the PCC Driveway Pavement quantity, and associated Driveway Pavement Removal quantity, in the Entrance Schedule (Estimated) are included to blend the proposed work into the existing driveway grades. The Driveway Pavement Removal quantity in the Removal Schedule is for Driveway Pavement Removal within the limits of the proposed sidewalk. (04/20/2022)

  • 1. The specifications state that excavation should be included under the Portland cement concrete sidewalk pay item. If the excavation and embankment are to be included under the Portland cement concrete sidewalk item, what should be included in the earth excavation pay item? 2. Will a control joint be required down the center of the sidewalk?
    1. An addendum will be issued. 2. A control joint shall not be constructed down the center of the sidewalk. (04/20/2022)
