  • There is only one pay item for cellular accounts but IDOT has both 3G and 4G sites with the 3G sites having a cost 30% higher than the 4G sites. With the cap of 15% over cost for this pay item shouldn't there be separate pay items for 3G and 4G?
    The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications currently available online. (04/20/2022)

  • The General Notes state: Traffic control shall not be paid for as separate pay items but shall be considered a part of the contract. Since there are no TC & P pay items and there is potential large cost for subcontractors setting up lane closures, will the contractor be allowed to bill for the subcontracted TC & P cost?
    No, they won't be allowed to bill separately -all traffic control costs must be included with the contractor's bid in the pay items in the plans. (04/20/2022)

  • Cellular Accounts, it says UOM is CAL MO however there are numerous locations and the Qty is 864, can you please clarify.
    The 36 locations (described in CELLULAR ACCOUNT section of special provisions pages 13 &14) times the duration of the contract (24 months) equals 864 CAL MO. (04/14/2022)
