  • Please specify a standard or provide details for the proposed item X6650208 Woven Wire Fence Remove and Replace. Thank You.
    The removal of the existing woven wire and fence posts is covered in the written specifications. All existing posts and wire shall be salvaged to the property owner as directed by the Engineer. It is only a specialty item due to the removal and salvage. The construction of the new woven wire fence and posts shall follow Section 665 of the standard specifications for roads and bridge construction. (07/21/2020)

  • If portions of the existing structure are to remain 2' below finish grade or deeper, are they are required to be removed or can those portions remain underground?
    There is an existing buried footing according to the existing plans that may interfere with our proposed pile locations. So long as the existing substructure doesn’t interfere with the proposed pile locations, it will not require removal. If the as-built structure differs from the existing plans, any additional removal will have to be at the Engineers discretion. (07/18/2020)

  • Regarding the SM rail - overhang at the end of rails is shown as 1'-10 3/4". Minimum overhang for this rail is typically at least 2'-0 1/2" (preferred OH is 2'-3"). Would you consider increasing the overhang to 2'-3"?
