Contract Specifics
A voluntary pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 09:00 AM in the Project Site at Legion Road, west of Fritts Road, approximately three miles west of Carrier Mills, IL. Location Notes - Sec 31 of Township 9 South–Range 3 East and Sec 5, 6 of Township 10 South–Range 3 East in Saline Co. Click here for map
Project Labor Agreement
The Contract shall end on or before 12/31/2023 with interim progress dates (when all earthwork, erosion control, permanent and temporary seeding, and mulching must be completed by) of 03/15/2022 (areas north of Legion Road) and 09/30/2022 (areas south of Legion Road).

  • Is there any more information on the 4' x 2' Precast Box Culvert? Not sure the slope, or how long the Precast End Sections are?
    Per Sheet 27 of the Plans, the Proposed Concrete Box Culvert is 40 foot in length, with the upstream flow elevation 404.0 and the downstream flow elevation 403.5. The length of the Proposed Box Culvert End Sections is not specified and therefore is at the discretion of the Contractor. (02/23/2021)

  • Plan sheet 10 shows the Cofferdam is the area to the left of the cofferdam have to be dewatered no information shown for that?
    Sheet 10 notes "EXISTING SHALLOW IMPOUNDMENT TO REMAIN". No Dewatering is anticipated. However, the Cofferdam is proposed to facilitate Earth Excavation to the west. (02/16/2021)

  • Can the department provide sheets that denotes the clearing limits more clearly, the current sheets that depict the tree line blends in with the contour line and are for the most part difficult to follow. best case is to have the tree line and construction limits as only information on the sheet.

  • Can the Department provide a quantity breakdown for work North of Legion Road and South, especially for the earth and mine refuse
    Quantities for Items are included in the plans as shown in the service bulletin through Notes, Takeoffs and Cross Sections. Per Cross Sections: Total Earth Excavation North of Legion Road = 410,846 CU YD Total Earth Excavation South of Legion Road = 309,262 CU YD. Total Earth Excavation = 720,108 CU YD. Per the Cross Sections and Notes on plan sheets, Mine Refuse Excavation volumes; Total Mine Refuse Excavation North of Legion Road = 244,131 CU YD. Total Mine Refuse Excavation South of Legion Road = 133,739 CU YD. Total Mine Refuse Excavation = 377,870 CU YD. (02/16/2021)
