In the special provisions for the RTTCS system on sheet 12 the second paragraph under system performance it states that additional REAL -TIME Traffic Control Sensor units installed that we will have 7 days to install these. How will any additional units be paid for?

In two locations in the special provisions it references warning signs with flashers (i.e. wig-wags) on ramps. Drawing sheets 91 and 92 do not show anything on the ramps so we assume that this is not relevant to this project. Please confirm.

The special provisions call for temporary pavement marking to be incidental to the 701402 pay item. Will the use of pavement marking paint line 4" be allowed for this project due to quantity and significant cost savings over tape?

When milling and paving the the transitions for the bridges can one lane drop be used to cover all 3 structures either northbound or southbound?

The Special Provisions state that any damaged guardrail will be removed and replaced prior to the beginning of Stage 1. At this time, can any locations be identified and quantified of any damage that will require repair?
There is a section of damaged guardrail behind the temporary barrier wall, but the barrier wall will be removed during construction. The damage shall be fixed before it is exposed to traffic.
It should also be noted from the Invitation For Bids, the bidder shall inspect in detail the site of the proposed work, investigate and become familiar with all the local conditions affecting the contract and the detailed requirements for construction. (02/23/2021)

The Guardrail Schedule of Quantities does not appear to be correct. Several locations have new SPBGR A 6-ft proposed but no terminals. Several lengths of existing guardrail also appear to be inaccurate compared to what is prescribed. Could the schedule be reviewed and corrected accordingly?

For the real time traffic control system can alternate methods be used in lieu of station sensors? In district 5 using Waze traffic data has been approved in lieu of sensors on two projects. Will using Waze (or one of their competitors) be used be allowed on this project?

Can the barrier wall from the temporary lane shifts be used for the temporary barrier wall to remain permanently?
It was our assumption that the temporary barrier used in the stage construction would be left in place permanently in the final location, as long as the barrier is of good quality. (02/23/2021)

Please confirm that for the wig-wags shown on sheets 91 and 92 there should be a wig-wag at each location on both sides of the road. (i.e. twice the amount shown)

In the plans the real time traffic control system the layout sheets show 1 of each of the Wig Wag and PCMS trailers. Note 4 on these sheets tells us to reference sheet 93 for the setup detail. When you go to sheet 93 it shows 1 on each side of the road, however note 3 on this page references to sheets 91 and 92 for placement. Are these devices to be dual indicated as shown on the detail, or single sided as shown on the layout sheets?
The placement quantity should be as the detail shows on sheet 93. The first message board in advance is a single, the wigwags are duals, the last message boards preceding the taper are duals. The placement maps on sheet 91-92 will be updated by addendum for clarification. (02/18/2021)

The special provisions state that Real Time Traffic Control System shown on on the WIG Wag Traffic Warning System Placement sheet will be paid for under the REAL Time Traffic Control special, however there is no pay item for this work. Please advise if an addendum will be issued to address this, or if its to be paid under a different pay item.
