According to the special provisions, under the Traffic Control Plan, it states the multi-use trail shall be closed to all traffic, bicycles, and pedestrians for the duration of the contract. It states this work shall be included in the contract unit bid price per cubic yard for Earth Excavation. Should this be priced under the BLR-21 pay item? Please clearify.

• Placing and maintaining Type III Barricades with Road Closed signs on the existing and proposed trail alignment at both sides of the township road intersections, as applicable, during construction shall be part of the Earth Excavation bid item. These shall be in place for the full duration of the construction and then removed and remain the property of the Contractor when the trail is open and after permanent bollards are in place to block traffic from using the trail. • Placing, maintaining, and removing TC&P per Standard BLR-21 for short durations only as necessary on the actual township roads (when concrete, aggregate, and HMA material are placed for the trail up to the edges of the existing township roads) during the actual construction of the intersections shall be part of the BLR-21 pay item. The bollards call for sheeting to be around them. How tall is this sheeting supposed to be? Typically it has been 24" tall chevron sheeting applied to the circumference. Will this be acceptable or will the sheeting need to be applied 2 the whole visible section of the bollards?

The covering is to be applied to the entire bollard. (12/11/2024)
