  • Bid item AR125470 - Modify sign panel - Who is the OEM? and is there a detail for what is to be modified i.e. sign legend?
    Item AR125470 – Modify Sign Panel consists of painting over an existing sign panel on signs that will be replaced under a future phase. Refer to specification section 125-3.8 Modify Sign Panel. No sign panel replacements will be required. (10/28/2020)

  • How is the removal of the painted taxiway closure marker paid for?
    The taxiway closure markers identified in the plans as painted are permanent and will not be removed. Taxiway closure markings identified as temporary may be painted or constructed of other materials as listed on sheet 7, detail 6, note 4. If painted, the removal of these temporary markings shall be considered incidental. (10/26/2020)

  • There is not a pay item for Silt Fence or Temporary Seeding want to be sure these item are not incidental to the contract
    There is a pay item for temporary seeding in the plans. No silt fence is anticipated. (10/22/2020)

  • On sheet 7 of the plans the beam barricade detail shows you can have up to a 15' spacing in between barricades. This is unusual to have this large of a gap so we just wanted to confirm that this is correct. Please advise.
    The 15’ maximum spacing shown on sheet 7, detail 1 is correct. (10/22/2020)

  • besides the subgrade below taxiway Y is there a compaction requirement for the embankment being placed were the runway has been removed and there is no pavement being placed?
    Backfill of the removed pavement shall be compacted to 95 percent of the maximum density as determined by ASTM D698 in accordance with Section 152-2.10, first paragraph, second sentence. (10/22/2020)

  • topsoil is incidental to Unclassified in areas were we cut to finish grade we have to cut an additional 4" to place topsoil is that additional cut paid as unclassified or considered incidental? Also the amount of topsoil required may be more than what the job will produce, will we be required to bring topsoil in from an off site source or can the material be generated form the project just may not be "black dirt?"
    The additional 4” of cut will be considered incidental. No import of topsoil is required. Material generated from excavation may be utilized. (10/20/2020)

  • The Bid Schedule has 10 new signs; the Sign Schedule has 11 signs. Is one of the signs the one that gets the black painted panels? There are three 5-character signs on the sign schedule, my assumption is one of the 5 character signs gets black painted panels.
    The sign schedule is correct. The quantity of 5-character signs (AR125445) shown in the summary of quantities should be 3 instead of 2. This will be addressed in the forthcoming Addendum A. (10/20/2020)

  • The L-853 Retro-Reflective Markers appear to be surface mounted. What type of surface will they be mounted on, asphalt or concrete. This makes a difference in the required adhesive.
    Of the 26 retroreflective markers, 5 will be placed on PCC pavement and 21 will be placed on HMA pavement. (10/20/2020)
