How many message boards will be required for this contract, as there is nothing shown in the plans or special provisions. Also, what is the intent for the usage of the message boards, advance notice, or advanced notice and duration?

These are included for advance notice and the duration of the project to be used at the discretion of the Resident Engineer. (04/15/2021)

1. Can the Guardrail Removals Delivery Location be specified? This will help determine timeframes for daily deliveries. Is it 5 minutes or a couple hours from project site? 2. How Much Guardrail of the plan quantity is to be delivered?

We have confirmed with operations that they do not want any of the salvaged rail. (03/31/2021)
It does not appear that guardrail posts will fall through bituminous shoulders. Can clarification be made as there is no guardrail shown in the cross sections.

We are unaware of any guardrail that is to be placed in HMA shoulders. (03/31/2021)
The pavement coring depths shown on sheet 2 of the plans indicate some existing HMA thicknesses to be thinner than the 2 3/4" milling depth. Is the intent to mill the entire 2 3/4" depth or stop when concrete is reached? Note 8 on sheet 2 indicates that milled concrete surfaces are to be overlayed prior to opening to traffic. What is the intent of this note? Will all areas where coring indicates an HMA thickness of less than 2 3/4" need to be paved before being opened to traffic?

The intent is to hold the milling at 2-3/4” throughout the project. Any areas where PCC is exposed will need to have binder placed before opening to traffic. (03/31/2021)
