  • Addendum A shows that Sheet 19 of plans was revised but the revised plans were not included with the addendum.

  • Strong Post attached to culvert: Plan sheets 17 and 19 detail cast-in-place anchors. Q1: Will it be acceptable to field drill & set anchors with an IDOT approved chemical adhesive in lieu of cast-in-place anchors? Q2: Please confirm that the posts for Strong Post pay item will need to be fabricated by an AISC Certified shop per Article 106.08 of the Standard Specifications especially that there is a ‘full penetration’ weld required and this has a unique weld certification per AWS D1.1.
    An addendum will be issued. (04/09/2021)

  • Guardrail Type A – 9 Foot: Plan sheets 12 directs approximately 37.5 LF of Radius Guardrail. There is nothing stated in the special provisions. Q1: Please confirm that the radius is included with the GR A 9 FT pay item or will IDOT be adding a pay item for ‘RADIUS’ guardrail with 9’ posts.
    Plan Sheet 12 - It appears that the callouts get lost behind the riprap patterned area. The callouts show 50' of A9 Guardrail at a 22' Radius (Radius Guardrail), then 12.5' of A9 guardrail, then a Type 2. A9 Radius Guardrail is still paid for as A9 Guardrail, therefore, a Special Provision or an additional pay item is not needed. (04/06/2021)

  • The locations talked about for closing the roads using Traffic Control and Protection, Standard BLR 21 at the culverts during culvert construction, pavement patching, and guardrail replacement do not match the locations given in the schedule of quantities for guardrail. Can clarification be made whether or not the roads at locations 2, 7, and 15 will all be closed during construction.
    Location 2 & Location 7 - we do not anticipate closing the road during construction, since work consists of a culvert extensions. Location 7A & Location 15 - Road closure using BLR 21 is necessary since work consists of constructing a new crossroad culvert. (04/06/2021)
