  • The sidewalk @ the culvert location is in a Sag curve and has no tie points. This will require a field survey after the concrete is poured. The 20 WD completion date does not allow enough time for field measure, shop drawing approval and fabrication. Can the WD completion date be extended to allow for this additional time?
    As shown in the plans, the improvements should follow the vertical curve detailed on sheet 9. There will be no need to adjust the working days. (12/27/2017)

  • Plan sheet 17 prescribes ‘evenly spaced post spacings’. Expansion joints between the bridge and the precast wingwalls are NOT noted. Please advise if the rail will run continuously across bridge and precast wingwalls (no consideration for expansion joints) OR the rail will need to stop and start at each expansion. It is customary to provide a post spacing for the bike rail making clear the intent.
    As shown in the plans, there is no expansion requirement for the sidewalk between the culvert and the wing wall. (12/27/2017)
