  • Page 11 of the special provisions direct us to follow IDOT standard 664001 for the 8' high chain link fence. If we follow the IDOT standard 664001 we would be installing 1.9" O.D line posts with 12" x 30" depth footings which while appropriate for 4' or 6' high fence seem undersized for 8' high fence. Please confirm this is correct or provide special provision section for what is desired.
    Installation shall be done per IDOT Standard. (06/29/2022)

  • Page 11 of the special provisions as well as IDOT standard drawings indicates posts to be spaced at 10'0" on center while page 10 of the special provisions indicates all posts to be placed in the exact same spot as removed posts. Existing wood fence posts are placed at 7'4" on center, can you please confirm if the intent is to put the new 8' high chain link fence posts in the exact 7'4" spacing or if we should put them at the IDOT standard of 10'0" spacing?
    Installation of the new Chain Link Fence 8" will be per IDOT standard of 10'-0" spacing. (06/28/2022)

  • Can you please provide exact location of the wooden fence removal so that I can see what needs to be done? Also can you advise what height chain link fence will be put in its place? Is the pay item for "wooden fence removal" for just removing the fence and the other pay items will be used for the new chain link fence?
    Location of the wood fence is included in the Description of Improvement special provision: IL 21 SB from IL 120 to IL 137. Wood fence shall be replaced by Chain Link Fence 8". Removal of wood fence to be paid as Wooden Fence Removal and replacement to be paid as Chain Link Fence, 8". (06/28/2022)
