Message Boards: SP 2 states that the message boards need to be installed 14 days before the work. It also says that the Maximum days IDOT will pay is 14 days. Why are there INCIDENTAL Message Board days? OR Is IDOT suggesting that boards be removed as the work begins? It's customary to pay for the boards while the work is being performed. Please confirm payment for each day boards are in service.
The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (09/04/2026)
