We are interpreting that we are to remove the existing post and concrete footing, and redrive a new post.
The special provision mentions repairing the cable system.
Please confirm the repair that is suggested in the Special Provision only includes the replacement of the line posts.
Per the Special Provision for Repair High Tension Cable (Gibraltar), the work shall include de-tensioning the existing cable system, removing the existing line posts and foundations, driving new line posts, and re-tensioning the cable system. All work shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's installation and repair specifications. (02/20/2026)

Special Provision Page 6 suggests pre-inspection before de-tensioning the cable system; if it is found that there are damaged cables, please confirm that the repair or replacement of high tension cable will be repaired per article 109.04.
If during pre-inspection of the cable barrier system the Resident Engineer determines damaged cable exists, then the work required to remove and replace the damaged cable and/or hardware will be paid for per Article 109.04. (02/20/2026)
