Bulletin Description

Replacement and upgrading of the existing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) from east of Ridge Rd to just west of Wheeler Rd and from Gardner St to I-355 for a net length of approximately 87,518 feet (16.58 miles). The improvement is located in the Villages of Shorewood, Minooka, Rockdale, and New Lenox and in the City of Joliet within Grundy, Kendall, and Will Counties.

  • The SP for the Budgetary Allowance for CCTV Integration states that the Contractor is to supply a total of 80 enterprise software license units. Is the cost of said licenses paid under 109.08 and applied against the $150,000 budgetary allowance pay item?
    The costs for the Budgetary Allowance for CCTV Integration will be as Payment for Extra Work in accordance with Article 109.04. (02/19/2026)

  • Please explain what items of work are relieved from the Completion date for ITS work.
    The Contractor shall complete all ITS work as specified within the contract documents except for as noted in the Special Provision entitled COMPLETION DATE FOR ITS WORK as follows: “Commissioning, device burn-in, and other system integration work, including acceptance, may occur after this date until the Contract Completion Date.” (02/19/2026)

  • Are the 336S cabinets single door or front & rear doors? Are they all pole mounted?
    Based on industry standard specifications, the Type 336S is designed with two (2) or double doors, one (1) in the front and one (1) in the rear of cabinet for ease of maintenance access to the 19-inch EIA equipment rack as shown in the Plans. References to “single door” in the CABINET, MODEL 336S special provision will be revised to “double doors”. Mounting of the 336S cabinet shall be per the installation section of the CABINET, MODEL 336S special provision: “The cabinet shall be installed on the CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION POLE STRUCTURE, 50 FT. MOUNTING HEIGHT or LIGHT POLE STEEL 50 FT. WITH CAMERA LOWERING SYSTEM as shown on the plans.” (02/19/2026)

  • The SP for the Network Design & Integration item states that the contractor is required to provide various items (SFP's, jumpers, hardware, etc...). Are the costs for all of these items to be paid under 109.08 and applied towards the $250,000 budgetary allowance?

  • Temp Const Fence: Special Provision page 215 suggests that the temp fence posts have to be set in concrete footings. This is very unusual for a temporary fence. Please confirm that the customarily driven posts will be acceptable. IF acceptable, will an addendum be issued? ALSO, plans do not call for gates but Spl Prov discusses gates. Please confirm that gates will not be required. IF they are required, quantity and a detail will be needed to determine type and width.
    We confirm that using standard spec temporary construction fence is acceptable. Gates for temporary fence will not be required. (02/19/2026)

  • The SP's list completion dates of various contracts that 62R19 has work. Are all of those completion dates still on track?
    The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (02/13/2026)

  • When is the addendum with missing plan sheets expected to be uploaded.

  • Based on initial review, there appears to be issues with the ITS plans pages 139-218. No ITS devices / construction is shown. This is the first issue we have noticed, may be more. Please re-issue a complete plan set as soon as possible to allow contractors ample time to bid the project.

  • The SUE utility plans start on sheet 136 and finish on sheet 224. The ITS Plans listed in the index seem to be missing from sheet 139 to sheet 218. Please provide ITS install plans.

  • Page 5 of the Special Provisions requires the Contractor to perform a survey of work that should have been performed by other Contractors and Engineers. How is this work paid for?
    As stated in the special provision, "The cost incurred by the Contractor for completing this work and in complying with this requirement shall be considered as included in the contract unit prices bid for the various items of work involved and no additional compensation will be made."
