The project extends from Montrose Ave to Park Blvd. Improvements cover 13.5 miles along 1-94 and 2 miles along US 41. The scope includes fiber optic cable, CCTV and dynamic message signs in order to provide surveillance coverage of the highway.

  • Are any areas of the project identified as containing non-special or hazardous waste? The special provisions contain all the requisite specifications for reporting, testing and monitoring, however there are no pay items for this work.
    The project should be bid according to the plans and specifications available online. (09/10/2021)

  • Would a CoHu 4220 PTZ camera be an acceptable alternative to Bosh, Pelco and Sequoia? This Camera is approved in Lake and Kane Counties as well as the Tollway.
    No changes will be made to the Plans or Specifications. The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications published online. (09/07/2021)

  • 1. Question in reference to the VDDS (Video Distribution and Display System): How many IP Streams do you want to see on the wall at one time? 2. Question in reference to the VDDS (Video Distribution and Display System): Are there any analog feeds that need to be converted to HDMI? If so, how many? 3. Question in reference to the VDDS (Video Distribution and Display System): How many hardwired inputs (HDMI, DP)?

  • 1. Why is the Lighting Maintenance duration not equal to the contract duration? 2. There is no reimbursement method for ITS Maintenance. Is it IDOT's assumption that ITS Maintenance will not be required? 3. The Dynamic Message Sign Electrical Service Allowance is found in the Project Specs, but there is not a Pay Item listed. Where will this cost be carried in the bid?
    1. Lighting maintenance is only required while the existing lighting is temporarily connected during the DMS installation work. Lighting maintenance remains with the Electrical Maintenance Contractor except for those instances. 2. The Department is in the process of issuing an addendum, please monitor the website for the addendum. 3. The special provision is not needed.   • With regards to Item X0327764, please clarify the below how many IP Streams are on the wall at one time? Are there any analog feeds that need converted to HDMI? If so, how many? How many hardwired inputs (HDMI, DP)? Are they two outside monitors in Portrait showing something different then the main wall? How many operators needs access to the Canvas software to change video wall sources and layouts and view create their own source views on their individual Operator PC’s?
