  • Will the two TBT Type 1 special tangents at Sta. 226+25 & Sta.239+90 that attach to the Type D guardrail need to have double sided rail as the Type D does to attach the two? If so, how will it be paid for?
    The 'TRAFFIC BARRIER TERMINAL - TYPE 1 (SPECIAL) TANGENT' pay items at the locations of Sta. 226+34 and Sta. 239+88 will be revised to the pay items of 'IMPACT ATTENUATORS (PARTIALLY REDIRECTIVE), TEST LEVEL 3', to be utilized at these locations. An addendum will be issued to address this. (02/25/2021)

  • On sheet 57 between sta. 228 & sta. 240 the SPBGR Type D appears to show two rows of posts rather than the one line of posts with rail on both sides like the standard shows. Can clarification be made was to whether this is two separate runs of Type D guardrail or if this is meant to be standard type A or B guardrail.
    An addendum will be issued to address this. (02/25/2021)

  • The plans also included a pay item for 5.5 SY of MEMBR WTRPR SYS B STR; however, neither the plans nor special provisions indicate where this material is applied. Can more information be provided?
    The pay item "Membrane Waterproofing System for Buried Structures" for 5.5 SQ YD is not included within the plans or special provisions for this contract, 035-76K45. This pay item is listed for 067-76M84. (02/24/2021)

  • The quantities list 260 CY of NON SPL WASTE DISPOSAL; however, this is no schedule in the plans and the special provisions do not indicate where this material is located on the project. Can you clarify the location of the material?
    The pay item "Non-Special Waste Disposal" for 260 CU YD is not included within the plans or special provisions for this contract, 035-76K45. This pay item is listed for 067-76M84. (02/24/2021)

  • Will a flagger be required on Both sides of the median for Guardrail Removal and Installation?
    Flaggers will be required as dictated by the applicable highway standards and associated pay items. (02/16/2021)

  • Will the Existing Guardrail Removal in the Median be measured per Each side of Rail?
    No, per Article 632.03 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, the GUARDRAIL REMOVAL pay item will be measured from center to center of end posts. (02/16/2021)

  • Will it be required to core through all 12"+ of the HMA for the Median Guardrail Installation per Plan sheets 15 & 28?
    Yes, the posts shall be driven through cored holes, per Article 630.06 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. (02/16/2021)

  • Con IDOT standard 701601 be used in both directions on IL 157 for this project?
    Yes, payment for 'TRAFFIC CONTROL & PROTECTION, STANDARD 701601, L SUM 1' is included within the contract and is to be used anywhere the standard is applicable, for northbound and southbound IL 157. (02/10/2021)
