Bulletin Description

This work is located at two sets of structures, SN 050-0210 and SN 050-0211 carrying FAI 39 Over the Nor-Folk Southern Railway, 1.48 miles north of IL Rte 18 and SN 050-0212 and SN 050-0213 carrying FAI 39 over Sandy creek, 1.23 mi. north of IL Rte. 18. This project consists of removing and replacing the expansion joints and approach slabs.

  • Sheet 14 Plan view and Section HH have a call out for a V(E) bar, but it is not shown in the bill of materials. Also the bill of materials has a V1(E) bar that is straight, but the location is not indicated anywhere.
    On Sheet #14 the v(E) bar as show on the Plan View and Section H-H "IS" shown on the Bill of materials. Also, There is no v1(E) bar associated with SN 050-0210 and Sn 050-0211 (02/24/2021)

  • On sheets 9 and 10, the barrier wall staging shows a straight run of 200LF for both bridges. However, We are removing and replacing 100 feet off of each end of the little sandy creek bridge and 100 feet off the North end of the Norfolk Southern Railway Bridge. Should the quantity be increased for the the temporary barrier wall in these locations? Or is there another traffic standard that we will follow for the bridge approach/connector pavement installation?

  • "Detail B" on plan sheets 16 and 27 call for a 4" Preformed Joint Seal. Under what pay item is this work covered?
    Cost of the 4" Preformed Joint seal is included in the cost of the "Concrete Superstructure (Approach Slab)" pay item. (02/16/2021)

  • Plan sheets 15, 25, and 26 all show Subbase Granular Material, Type B, 4" under the Bridge Approach Pavement. How is that paid for as there is no pay item for Subbase Granular Material, Type B, 4"?
    The cost of "Subbase Granular Materials, Type B 4" as shown on Plan Sheets 15, 25 and 26 Shall be include in the cost of the "CONCRETE SUPERSTRUCTURE (APPROACH SLAB). An addendum will be issued to clarify. Please monitor the website for the addendum. (02/16/2021)

  • Section Q-Q on sheet 22, shows the existing approach pavement to be removed at 15” thick, but the new approach slab to be install for that section is only 10” thick (Section V-V on sheet 25). What is to be installed in that 5” void and how will that be paid?
    Section Q-Q on sheet 22 and Sheet 23 is incorrect, the existing pavement is "10" Thick". Section V-V on Sheet 25 "Is" Correct. An addendum will be issued to correct the error. Please monitor the website for the addendum. (02/09/2021)

  • Will the existing structural as-builts be made available prior to bidding?
