This project consists of bridge repairs including expansion joint replacement, deck and approach patching, structural repair of concrete, drain cleaning, traffic control, pavement striping; on F.A.P. Route 332 (IL 1/17) at two structures, Structure No. 046-0023 and Structure No. 046-0111 carrying IL 1/17 over the Kankakee River in Momence.

Parapet Railing: Plan sheet 33 and 45 call out ‘when’ railing is galvanized, and ‘when’ the railing is painted. Please confirm that the railing will be GALVANIZED or PAINTED or BOTH. Please advise what the type of coating is required on this project. Please issue Addendum to clear this up.

The railing will be galvanized. (06/03/2024)
1) The plans show span wire temporary signals and the Special Provisions say trailer mounted. Do the plans prevail? 2) There is mention of District 1 in the Special provisions for electrical. I assume this is a typo. 3) The plans show EVP and temporary wireless interconnect for the temporary signals. The City of Momence currently doesn't have EVP or interconnect. Will these be required? 4) Is it an option to utilize the existing traffic signal controller for temporary use?

1) The plans show span wire temporary signals and the (Recurring) Special Provisions say trailer mounted. Do the plans prevail? According to Article 105.05 of the Standard Specification, Plans hold over Recurring Special Provisions, thus, yes, use span wire for temp signals. 2) There is mention of District 1 in the Special provisions for electrical. I assume this is a typo. YES, this is a typo. 3) The plans show EVP and temporary wireless interconnect for the temporary signals. The City of Momence currently doesn't have EVP or interconnect. Will these be required? EVP and Interconnect will not be required. 4) Is it an option to utilize the existing traffic signal controller for temporary use? Yes, this is a possibility. However, this will need to be approved by the IDOT D3 traffic signal section and the Resident Engineer during shop drawing review process. (06/03/2024)
