Bulletin Description

The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and other incidentals necessary for the conversion of existing ITS equipment to run on cellular communications. This work also consists of installing temporary fiber optic cable. Improvements associated with this project are located with the Villages of Hillside, Bellwood, Westchester, Broadview, Maywood, Forest Park, and Oak Park, as well as the City of Chicago in Cook County, on I-290 between Wolf Road and Racine Avenue.

    The pay item for the area within the load transfer platform is X2070304 POROUS GRANULAR EMBANKMENT (SPECIAL). The pay item for the area between the top of the load transfer platform and the roadway section is 20700220 POROUS GRANULAR EMBANKMENT. Plans will be updated accordingly in a construction revision.     Rock Excavation is shown on the north side of I-290 west of Mannheim Road. It is shown in the callouts for wood poles between STA 5081+54 and STA 5101+79. We do not have any borings for this area. The entire length of pole of embedded is required due to exposed rock in this area. (04/08/2026)
